Cooking Day

27/12/2012

Today is our Cooking Day!!

My father love to eat pudding. I decided to make another Cream Caramel using the right amount of ingredients.

Look nicer than before but I think I love the taste of the pudding with the wrong amount of ingredient. Or maybe next time, I just put more custard powder to lessen the “egg” taste.

While I was cooking the dessert, my mom asked me to cook the ray fish that I bought last week. This is my speciality “Asam Pedas Ikan Pari”. Cece love to eat my signature dish since the 1st time I learned this recipe from my aunty.

Cancer and Me

26/12/2012
8:45 am – Check in Counter, Hospital Serdang
I was late for my specialist appointment (again). I thought that my appointment was at 10am but when I arrived I found out that my appointment was at 8am. “Oh! Never mind it is still early”, I said to myself.

As I took my no for registration, I was so shocked that I have to wait for another 100 peoples before they called up my no. It was 1238 and my no was 1338. So my daughter and I decided to go to buy some refreshment, newspaper and magazine. 10mins later my no was called and then we went to the specialist clinic at Level 1. Wow! 10mins only? Cool!

9:15am – Otorinolaringology Clinic
Whoaaaa! Where the hell are these people come from? I cannot find a seat for both of us as the seats were full and the clinic was packed like sardine in a tin.

About an hour later, I went to see my specialist, Dr Zamri. He said he was frustrated when I said that I had a small lump at the same place again. He also said that my last surgery to remove the cancer was one of the difficult surgery he ever done. He removed all the cancer but as I did not finish my radiotherapy cycles, the cancer may recurrent and maybe aggressive this time.

As I have to restart the cancer treatment all over again, Dr Zamri then set a new appointment on Monday (31st Dec 2012) to start with FNAC. If the lump is a cancer positive lump, then I have to do the X-ray, MRI, ultrasound then operation to remove the lump and after that I will referred to HUKM again for chemotherapy and radiotherapy again. And this time Dr Zamri said that he will put extra attention to me as I failed to obey his order before.

Before I left, Dr Zamri gave me Cefuroxime Axetil for a week. Perhaps the lump is because some kind of infection evens it more unlikely like one.

32 Going On 23

Pursuing a Diploma of Science in the age of 32???

At this age, I am supposed to have a Degree scroll not studying in Diploma.

I must say that I am ashamed of myself for not having a degree scroll like my batch mate. They are all now successful in life. Some of them are now in oversea Universities pursuing PhD; some of them are great lecturers, Executives and even are the CEO for their own companies, making million of money but I am serving as clerk in Governments’ Civil Department. Alhamdulillah....

1989-1992   : Top Scorer in Sek.Keb. Sungai Pelek

1995            : I was in Top 10 list PMR Scorer List - SMK Sungai Pelek

1999            : Not listed as 3 pointer student in Inpens College

2003           : Not even listed in Graduation List as I failed to finished studying in UPM

Sad story toward the ending...but it was totally my fault.

Studying in this age actually gives me some advantage:

1)  Time management:

I know how to manage my time wisely. During weekdays from 8am-6pm, I will use that time to study. At night, I’ll spend 2-3 hours with my daughter and doing house chores and then I will do some revision for tomorrow’s class. Weekend is absolutely for family and spring cleaning!

2)  Special Attention :

I am not saying that ‘special attention’ is good because I hate to be kind of attraction to people but this special attention sometimes makes me feel great because I don’t feel like I am left behind.

3)  I feel younger :

I am surrounded by teenagers aging from 18-23 years old which make me feel like one also! Hahahahaharunsalimbachik!

I still remember the 1st time they saw me walking into the class. They thought that I was one of their new lecturers.

I hope that I’ll be success this time

I am doing this for my mother and my lovely daughter...

I love you guys...

15/12/12 - The Lazy Day

My whole body was aching like hell and I couldn’t barely open up my eyes. It was Saturday and all I could think was sleeping the whole day. “I have to wake up”, i said to myself. It was still early and I was like a giant snail. Slowly walking to pick up the towel and headed to shower. I took the green baju kurung which I don’t have to iron and wore it. I started the engine and it was 7.45am. OMG! I will be late!! The car fuel was 1bar and I have to stop to refuel. OMG!! I will be late and late and late!!! As soon as I reached Universal HQ, the lecturer from Malaysia of Health Department was already in the class. Malunya!! Surprisingly the class was still half empty even the clock showed 8.45am. The class started at 9am and slowly one by one student came in and at 10.30am the class was ¾ full. Another ¼ was missing in action. Hahahaha..What do you expect? The practical exam was over yesterday and today’s lecture will not be included in the final exam this coming 31st December.

The lecture today covered a few topics like:
1)    The Safety and Emergency Respond
2)   Infectious  Disease
3)   The Requirement and Supervision of under 4years old Handicapped Children

The class ended at 2.30pm as we decided to skip lunch time to finish early.
I reached home at 3.30pm and had a beautiful nap until 5pm before Mak woke me up and asked me to send Abah to barber.

There goes my nap.....

12/12/12 - JKM Amali Exam Day 1

Wednesday (12/12/12)

I woke up at 6.15am and left at 6.45am. As usual a heavy traffic at a few hotspots like KLIA roundabouts, Dengkil-Putrajaya junction and Taman Equine traffic lights. I reached Universal Click Office at 7.50am and it was 5min late from original schedule.
At 8am, my group and I started the journey (owh! Like it way too far from the HQ) to the examination place at Tadika Sinar Bistari (fb : Sinar Bistari). We started the examination at 9am after Dr. Aishah Daud gave a short briefing about the examination.
For today, we were tested about the Children’s Language & Socio-Emotion Development. For my Language Development, I prepared a model, which I named it as “Wisma Laylana” consists of 1 restaurant and 1 clinic with I put on 3 different types of job that are regularly been seen but rarely and regularly being told. For example: cashier, cook, waitress, mechanic etc.
(pic)

I was the 1st person bein tested in my group.  Luckily I don’t have “stage-nervous” like old days. Both 4years old kid that I took were very active during the activity. I threw in some question and let them answer. They even sang during my activity. My objective was achieved!! Hooray!!!!!!
Same goes to my Socio-Emotion Development which again I was the 1st in queue. Maybe the examiner loves me so much! Hahahahhaha! This time, I asked 3 girls aged 3-4years to follow me to the examination hall.
We were playing a paper doll for about 5minutes. Maybe  this is the 1st time they were using the paper doll, it was quite awkward but then slowly they began to love it. And again, I achieved my objective when the children can play together.

I took this picas from Bistari Ceria’s fb.

Enjoy!

The little one stops to climb a tree,
And they all go marching down into the ground
To get out of the rain.
Boom, boom, boom, boom!

The Bitchy Bitchy Bitch

This entry was supposed to be loaded last Friday (7/12/2012).

If I was the character in The Avengers, I would be The Hulk today! I was so pissed off until I don’t have an appropriate word to describe how angry I was today.

Last Tuesday, En. Akmal called and asked for the Inventory File in my office’s PC. He said that one of the staff has mistakenly sent a printer to be disposed by the Asset’s Unit. They need me to come to the office so that they can get the printer back and send the right printer for disposal. I refused because I wasn’t the one who made the mistake and I don’t want to responsible for the mistake they made. I just called them and taught them how to find the said file in my PC and what to do next.

The day after, En Akmal sent another text, saying that the Boss wanted to see me. So I replied that I will come to the office the day after tomorrow (Friday) as my class will finished at 11am. An hour later CC gave a ring but my phone was off as I was in Chemistry Class. She texted me saying that the Boss wanted to see me tomorrow. I just ignored the message as I already inform En Akmal and I sent a SMS to my Boss regarding the same matter. Actually the bad relationship occurs between me and CC since 1st day I reported to her.

The next day, she sent an SMS saying “Please confirm that you can come to the office tomorrow or else a disciplinary action will be taken upon you”. I was so shocked so I called En Akmal and asked him what was the big thing happened in the office as I was being called this way. En Akmal said it maybe because of the printer. Huh! It was only small as pieces and they don’t even can do it without me???????????????? Lebih baik takyah keje!

Friday...
I came to the office at 11am after Physic Lab ended.
I went to the Boss’s office and the Boss asked me to update my health condition and update my physical MC and no other business than that!!! He asked me to come to the office as CC doesn’t have the updates.

What the &%^&$&^^&#^%%$

Before I leave, the CC called me and says that she was warned because I don’t give update information to her. That was why I have to come and make things clear.

Hey!!
You don’t have my number ke?
I know you are not using the prepaid line. Can’t you just call me and ask me how am I doing?
Can’t you ask the person in charge for Staff’s Leave for an updates???

For that damn 10min of explanation, I have to come all the way from Sepang to Kuala Lumpur! Pay back my fuel and toll!! St***d B***H!!

What the *&%&^%#%$%@$%@%@^@%@

Song, Story and Creative Art

This entry was supposed to be loaded last Thursday (6/12/2012).

I don’t want to give any excuse because this was absolutely was my mistake.
I don’t have an internet access at home and I was busy preparing the puppet for the Singing and Story Class this coming Sunday. I would like to emphasize that my grammar is very bad but I must write this blog in English. Practises make perfect, right? Please bear with my writing or please (3x) do correct me, so that I may learn from mistakes.

We were assigned to create a play for 2-4 years old children using a hand puppet.
I was in charged in creating a story line and luckily I got this link to refer to.

I use the same story of The Ants and The Grasshopper but I used the malay version.

The story goes like this:-
A long time ago in a very beautiful park full of flowers, there lives Mr Grasshopper and his friends. Mr Grasshopper’s friends are Mr and Mrs Ladybug, Mr and Mrs Ant, Mr Bee and Miss Butterfly. Before the raining season, his entire friend was busy storing the food except for himself. Mr Grasshopper doesn’t want to listen to his friend’s advice. When the raining season came, Mr Grasshopper was starving until he had fallen sick. When the rain stopped, Mr Bee had a visit to Mr Grasshopper house and he was shocked when he saw Mr Grasshopper was ill. Mr Bee then informed the other friends. They brought some food for poor Mr Grasshopper. – end of the story-

The biggest problem was how to make the puppet??

I made some sketch of the character but I found that it was so difficult to build.  Then I got some ideas when I was surfing an online shop. This online shop selling toys, puppets and children’s item. I fall in love when seeing their puppet so I decided to sew my puppets according to the picture. It was so simple that I just spent 3hours to get my puppets done. Here is the picture that I was referring to. MINE?? Please wait for the next entry...hahahahhaha

Food, Food & Food!!

Yeay!!!

It is FOOD’s Day today.

I woke up early in the morning the prepare the Chapatti... or maybe I slightly cheated a little bit because actually I use the instant Chapatti..shhhh!!!!!

I was 10mins late and luckily Teacher Aishah wasn’t in the class yet. Phewww!

In today’s class, we were taught about:

1)    Food Pyramid

2)   The Important of a Good Eating Habit for Kids

3)   How to create a menu for babies, and 1-4 years old children

4)   How to present the kid’s “UNWANTED” food

5)   Preparing the lesson plan for the “Amali”  Exam

We were divided to 4 groups. Each group were given a specific menu 2 weeks earlier. The menus were:

1)    Banana based food for breakfast

2)   Banana based food for evening snack

3)   Rice based food for lunch

4)   Noodle based food for evening snack

We decided to make “Chapatti Bites” which was an alternative menu altered from the Philippine famous menu the “Turron” for our banana evening snack menu. I forgot which original website I took this recipe but you can easily find the related recipe by typing “Banana Dog Bites” / Banana Snacks for Children in your search engine.

Chapati Banana Bites

Ingredients

  • Peanut Butter / Strawberry Jam / Melting Chocolate
  • Bananas
  • Chapatti Wraps ( I use “Kawanku” Brand )

Directions :

  1. Cook the wrap until it slightly to brown
  2. Spread peanut butter / Strawberry Jam  on one side of the wrap
  3. Cut the banana into slices and place on top of the spread
  4. Cover with another wrap or roll the wrap
  5. Dip in the melting chocolate
  6. Serve and enjoy!

Some useful tips for parents:

1)    Kids are attracted to colourful food

2)   Creative presentation of the food may enhance them to eat what they don’t want to eat

3)   Create an amazing “Food World” for kid to explore
