It
was Cece’s 1st day of school at her new preschool at Sekolah
Kebangsaan Sungai Pelek. Cece’s schooling hours started at 7.40am and finished
at 11.40am. She woke up at 7am and took her morning bath right after mama got
so angry because she said she don’t want take her bath. She wore her white
t-shirt and blue sport trousers and brushed her hair all by herself.
It
was Wednesday and since it was the 1st day of school for the new
student (including Standard 1 students), the parents were allowed to sent their
children up to the class doorstep. Cece’s pre-school class is actually at the
end block of the school. I have settled the fees payment last Saturday during
the Orientation Day.
At
the doorstep of the class, Cece suddenly said, “Mama, go home now. Go to your
school now or you’ll be late. This is my school not your school. Go now, Mama!”
“I
want to stay for a while. I want to see how the teacher teaches you in this
school”
“Cannot
la Mama, go la...”
My
little girl is not “little” anymore. Even though she is only 6 years old but
there was a strange feeling inside my heart when I walked away from her class.
It wasn’t a bad feeling but somehow I felt like I wanted to cry, I wanted to
stop the time so my little girl will be my little girl forever.
Next
to my parents house is my old school of SRA Sungai Pelek. I have discussed with
my mom and we decided to send Cece to SRA in the evening to learn agama. I know
it is too early to send her to SRA but at least she will learn something new at
school. I had a simple meeting with the Headmistress and she agreed to accept
my daughter to Year 1 class but Cece will have to stay in the same Year 1 class
for the next year.
Since
it was unplanned program, I haven’t prepared anything for her new SRA and today
was the 1st day of school for SRA also. I picked up Cece at 11.45am
at her pre-school and headed to MyMydin at Kota Seriemas to find the SRA
uniform for her. Out of my luck, the uniform was nowhere to be found so I
decided to go to Tesco, Nilai. Again, there was no school item nor school
uniform in sight. The promotional rack was already changed to CNY item. OMG! I
just came here yesterday and today it was all gone!
The
clock was 1.15pm and I still haven’t found any school uniform. My last choice
was Giant located next to Tesco. I was so relief when I saw there was a school
uniform at the promotional area. We hurried to the area and start searching for
the size. The promoter said that there was no stock available the small size
and the only brand that still available will cost about RM35 for a piece of
baju kurung only not a pair of baju kurung. She told me to go to Hari-Hari,
located just in front of Giant.
We
hurried to the store and as soon as I reached the store, I asked the promoter
to get a complete school uniform set for Cece. The promoter hurried to the rack
to get the size but the funny thing happened when she bring the set of baju
melayu to my daughter. My daughter love to wear boy’s shirt and people always
said that I have a son not a daughter.
She
changed the set to the new baju kurung and I asked my daughter to change to the
uniform because we will straight go to the school for registration. I spend
RM30 for a complete set of her uniform. Just imagine how the brand of an item
can cost us in everyday life?
